The Force '07 Girls A team went 4-0 in the 2018 Rush Cup Tournament, held over the weekend of August 3rd to 5th at Skagit River Park in Burlington, WA, and won the Girls U12 Silver Division Championship.

During the tournament, the '07 Girls provided solid defending and goal keeping—only giving up a single goal all weekend. On the attacking side of the ball, they outscored their opponents 19-1 over the course of the tournament, with victories over Whatcom Rangers G07 Blue (8-0), Wenatchee FC G07 Black (3-0), and Wenatchee FC G07 White (5-0) in the group stage.

The girls did a great job of connecting and working together all weekend. We scored some beautiful one touch goals off of crosses. You can see them starting to play ‘real’ big girl soccer.

Facing North Whidbey Deception FC G07 in the final match, the Force '07 Girls won by a margin of 3-1 to win the championship.

Head Coach, Nathan Davis, said he was very happy with the development of the girls over the past three weeks, and said he had broken all rules having them play in 3 straight weekend tournaments which began with a road trip to Portland. Even though it was a rigorous stretch, overall the girls and parents had a great time.

The girls chose to work on communication and connecting during these three weeks. I have seen great strides in their ability to read the game. Part of this was working on combination play and getting into dangerous space.

Over the past three tournament weekends, the girls were 7-2-3 and only gave up 7 goals over those 12 games—a pretty awesome accomplishment for any team! They played in the ‘Gold’ Divisions of the Select tournament in Oregon, losing in PK's in the semi-final match, and then again in the Gold Division of the Crossfire Select Cup at Sixty Acres Park in Redmond, WA, before moving to the Silver Division at the Premier level Rush Cup Tournament.
