Two Force teams advanced in State Cup tournaments this past weekend

Force '08 Girls

Our Force ‘08 Girls advanced to the Puget Sound Premier League’s Washington Cup state tournament semifinals this past weekend after finishing first in group play.

In order to advance, the Force '08 Girls defeated an ISC Gunners team and a team from Academy of Soccer Excellence (ASE) out of the Tri-Cities area, followed by a draw with a team from NPSA from Bellevue.

Force '02 Girls

Also, our Force ‘02 Girls are now headed to the quarterfinals of the Washington Youth Soccer President’s Cup this coming Sunday. They headed into their final match of group play with a record of 1-1-1, which meant they were really in a difficult position in order to advance.

Our ‘02 Girls knew going into this weekend of double-headers that there was a slim to no chance of making it to the next round. But they worked harder than ever, never giving up, and pulled it off. Very proud!
— Kelly Huestis, Head Coach

They battled through adversity and never gave up, and ended up beating a good NSC Velocity team out of Bothell, plus had a few other matches go their way, which resulted in our '02 Girls advancing to the next round.

That is what Force is all about—creating a warrior-like culture within our players, so that they keep battling even when things are not going their way.
— Scott Willsie, Force Technical Director

Let's cheer on our '02 Girls as they head into the quarterfinals this coming weekend vs. a strong Kent United team. Go Force!
